Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is one of the most feared emergencies in anesthesia care. Though rare, it can be life-threatening within minutes if not recognized and treated immediately. Preparation and training are the only ways to ensure a successful outcome when MH occurs.

This training video provides staff with the knowledge and tools to:

  • Recognize the signs of MH early, including rising temperature, muscle rigidity, and rapid heart rate.

  • Initiate immediate treatment protocols, including the administration of dantrolene.

  • Coordinate as a team to deliver rapid, life-saving care under pressure.

Because MH is so rare, staff may never encounter it in day-to-day practice—but the consequences of being unprepared are severe. This makes ongoing education and regular review of MH protocols essential for all anesthesia providers and surgical team members.

By completing this training, your facility ensures every staff member is ready to act swiftly, confidently, and effectively. MH may be rare, but readiness is non-negotiable.
