Be Familiar With AAAHC Surveys

One of the vital parts of how to get accredited by AAAHC is being familiar with the types of surveys they conduct. These surveys help them assess whether an organization must be accredited or not.

• Early Option Survey – These are for organizations that are not accredited by AAAHC and meet AAAHS criteria but have been operating for less than six months.
• Initial Accreditation Survey – This is for organizations with expired AAAHC accreditation that are again applying for accreditation. After they submit all requirements, the AAAHC will then consider their reapplication.
• Re-accreditation Survey – This is for organizations that are already AAAHC accredited and seek continuation of accreditation after the three-year term.
• Interim surveys – This is for organizations that already AAAHC accredited but may still need to undergo assessment to check compliance with the accreditation standards.
• Random and Discretionary Survey – This is a random survey done on accredited organizations. This type of survey is unannounced and organizations are selected based on practice settings, geographic areas and accreditation decision categories.
